Here are some New Zealand nature break trips taking in popular destinations in the North Island. From the subtropical North to the wild volcanic plateau of Tongariro, from the mystic thermal wonders of Rotorua and Taupo to the café culture of the Capital City of Wellington.  You can purchase these Nature Breaks individually or combine them to make a longer itinerary.

You have the choice of New Zealand full service hotel accommodation, self catering motel accommodation or New Zealand budget hostel accommodation. Choose what suits your holiday budget and style.

You can self drive with your own New Zealand rental car (choice of 3 car types) or opt to travel by first class scheduled coach services. Select the New Zealand transport that you prefer.

   Day 1: Auckland - Bay of Island and Kings Dolphin Cruise
optional sightseeing 
  • through seaside resorts of Orewa & Waiwera
  • historic Warkworth village
  • arrive Paihia early afternoon
  • afternoon Hole in the Rock dolphin cruise
  • spectacular Cathedral Cave, Bay of Islands Maritime & Historic Park
  • dolphin watching
  • full commentary, including Maori myths & legends
  • refreshments available on board
  • late afternoon/evening at leisure

Suggested Sightseeing:

  • stroll along the waterfront
  • visit historic Waitangi Treaty House
  • check out the marina at nearby Opua

 
   Day 2: Cape Reinga Day Trip with Kings  
  • early departure from Paihia (hotel pick ups are available in the Paihia and Kerikeri areas, your pick-up time will be confirmed at time of booking)
  • travel by luxury air conditioned coach
  • stop at Puketi Kauri Forest, Ancient Kauri Kingdom, Ninety Mile Beach
  • dig for shell fish
  • sand tobogganing at the Te Paki giant sand dunes
  • Cape Reinga Lighthouse
  • late afternoon/early evening return to Paihia

 
   Day 3: Bay of Islands - Auckland
optional sightseeing 
  • morning at leisure to stroll the beach or optional sightseeing
  • return to Auckland this afternoon

   Day 2: Whitianga - sightseeing  
  • free day amongst beautiful bays, white sandy beaches and offshore islands
  • scenic track to Cathedral Cove - natural rock amphitheatre
  • kayak, snorkel or cruise the bays
  • dig your own hot pool at Hot Water Beach (low tide)
  • enjoy your day in the bays

 
   Day 3: Whitianga - Auckland or Rotorua
optional sightseeing 
  • enjoy a morning of relaxation by the beach
  • afternoon, return to Auckland to continue on to Rotorua
